About Salisbury East:
Location and Boundaries
Salisbury East is bounded by Main North Road leading onto McIntyre Road. The east boundaries consist of Bridge Road leading into the parklands of Cobbler Creek West Reserve, with the Grove Way cutting through it.
Salisbury is named after a town in Wiltshire, England.
Settlement of the area dates from the mid 1800s, with some growth in the late 1800s. Significant development did not occur until the 1960s. The population declined slightly during the early 1990s, then was relatively stable from 1996, a result of some new dwellings being added to the area, but a decline in the average number of persons living in each dwelling.
Salisbury East is an established residential area with substantial parklands in the east.
Major features of the area include Cobbler Creek Recreation Park, Salisbury East Neighbourhood Centre, Bluehills Reserve, Davey Oval, Madison Park, Manor Farm Oval, Moyes Reserve, Onsley Reserve and numerous schools.
