About Salisbury Heights:
Location and Boundaries
Salisbury Heights is bounded by the Little Para River in the north, the City of Tea Tree Gully in the east, Green Valley Drive, Taronga Court and the Cobbler Creek in the south and Main North Road in the west.
Salisbury is named after a town in Wiltshire, England.
Settlement of the area dates from the mid 1800s when a hotel was established. Significant development did not occur until the 1960s. More substantial growth occurred during the 1990s. The population declined slightly between 2001 and 2011, a result of few new dwellings being added and a decline in the average number of persons living in each dwelling.
Salisbury Heights is a residential area with parklands, and some remaining rural areas.
Major features of the area include the Little Para River, St Aidans Reserve and one school.
