About Salisbury Plain:
Location and Boundaries
Salisbury Plain is bounded by Fenden Road and Saints Road in the north, and Park Terrace and Main North Road in the South.
Salisbury is named after a town in Wiltshire, England.
Settlement of the area dates from the mid 1800s, with land used mainly for farming and orcharding. Significant development occurred from the 1960s when the trotting stud was subdivided. Development continued in the 1970s and 1980s. The population declined slightly between 1991 and 2006, a result of some dwellings being added to the area, but a decline in the average number of persons living in each dwelling. The population and dwelling stock were relatively stable between 2006 and 2011.
Salisbury Plain is an established residential area with some parklands.
